Moonlighting

The Honeymoon Stallions:”Moonlighting”

“The majority of these songs were recorded just outside of Nashville at Paul Umbach’s studio.  For the basic tracks we recruited some transplanted locals to create a band vibe and add some new textures.  After recording in a new location, with new players and new sounds, I felt a name change was in order.  Out of these ashes ‘The Honeymoon Stallions’ were born.”

Reviews

“Andy Goldberg (The Sun Kings, The Goldbergs) returns with a new band and a new album. The Honeymoon Stallions gallop out of the gate with the opener “If It Wasn’t For You,” a terrific melody with a layer of organ under the guitar riffs. Every song is strong here, and its on par with his previous albums. Overall, a welcome autumn present for lovers of great guitar pop.” - Power Popaholic.com

“the Long Island purveyor of hooks (lines and sinkers as well) resurfaces with a new band name but the same top-notch power pop… a triumphant return for one of the top power poppers of the last 6-7 years.” - Absolute Powerpop.com

“Moonlighting” doesn’t stray far at all from the tasty pop formula Goldberg has followed all along… each song is beautifully constructed, with stirring harmonies and cozy melodies – not a bad one in the bunch.” - Now This Rocks (9/20/12)

“Andy Goldberg has written a timeless classic here…The songs are lyrically very strong, well crafted and held together by all the riffs, hooks, melodies and harmonies that you could possibly desire.” - Ice Cream Man Power Pop (9/13/12)
